CXO in Europe - talking (mostly) about practice

Cross season here runs until Mid-January so we are still at it and still getting muddy. Really muddy. Willow beach on a crap day kind of muddy and that is just practice.

CXO in Europe – there will be mud

This weekend was round 2 of the Irish Super-Cross Cup.  This race was in Dublin, so no long trip to Northern Ireland for me this time.  Instead a sedate 15K peddle across town.

CXO European Correspondent

As some of you know I am spending the year in Ireland for work purposes.  I am on a sabbatical from York University to do a research project with faculty at University College Dublin- which means we are living and working just south of Dublin city centre.  The key thing to this job is that it gives me lots of flexibility, which means lots of time for non-work adventures on the cross-bike.

Tubeless- more data

The testing continues – and though there are still some issues I am pretty certain I will not be buying tubulars for next year. Here is a quick run-down of the “testing” since early October – with a bit of rationale to help explain what does and does not work well.

Tubeless update- things can go boom

OK three more races plus a lot of grave road riding up North and things still seem petty much to be working as advertised- for me. Not necessarily working as well for others.

So here is the update:

Tubeless part two

The tubeless experiment.

This is the fist of a series of irregular posts on an (expensive) experiment I am conducting with tubeless tires. I know others are running these tires but it is still hard to get information about these set-ups, especially on how they perform locally, so I figured I would share. If you have or are running tubeless, especially in Ontario please join the discussion.
