Friends of Canadian Cyclo-cross Racers

Friends have raised $2025.00

As Cyclo-cross is not an Olympic sport, the Canadian Cycling Association doesn't provide any funding for the National Cyclo-cross Team, meaning riders must cover their own airfare, accommodations, meals, equipment expenses and even their national team jerseys. We have seen the commitment that it has taken for these riders to qualify and get there and we want to help them along by taking some of the financial burden off of their shoulders, allowing them to focus on their racing and representing Canada at Cross Worlds in Tabor, Czechoslovakia.

Thanks to your generous support, the Friends of Canadian Cyclocross Racers in raised over $10,000 since 2006.

Midweek Cycling Club and CXO put together a race in December with over $1000 collected towards this cause.

As last year, we hope that a major sponsor will come forward and contact the CCA directly in support of the National Team. Funds can be directed to specific projects and we believe that the CX team project is as important as others. To donate directly to the CCA, the form is available here. For those who contributed last year and submitted an address for a tax receipt - the CCA will be sending a tax receipt with their year end mailings, likely in January. We can again provide a tax receipt this year, but it will be for the 2010 tax year and will be mailed with the year end for that year.
