for the same reasons; that the juniors and under 23, had to pay for their clothing (at retail pricing), pay all of their transportation and pay for a CCA Manager (who no offence, wasn't the most qualified person to be the cyclocross team manager) to fly there, business class! And lets not forget, that cyclocross is the only discipline, that requires riders to attend the National Championships, in order to attend Worlds (I don't recall Rollin, Mike Barry, or Ryder being at Nats RR, but they were certainly at Worlds). So, basically, politics has reared it's ugly head in the tiny world of Canadian Cyclocross.
But I'm not bitter...lol.
Oh ya, and it was really cold.
Hopefully the CCA can get their act together and put some annual funding into cyclocross for the next three years....culminating in a team of FIVE riders for EACH of the Worlds races in 2013. Also, Nationals as the sole qualifying event is ridiculous in a country where it can cost as much to fly across as to fly to Europe....do athletes want to do that twice each year if they qualify for Worlds?
Just a point of clarification....I flew home on the same flight as Matt Knight the National team manager ...he did not fly business class. I know Marc Boudreau and Vicki Thomas were under the impression that he was flying business class...but based on what I saw I believe they were incorrect in their assumptions.
Also, this having been my second time attending CX Worlds, I thought the team manager, Matt Knight did an excellent job. Marc and Alex also did a great job, there were no compications or missteps of any kind.
The riders were all able to focus solely on their responsibilities as racers.

Erik, I was just curious,
